Solo Day 145

May 27, 2011   //   by peggy   //   Solo Blog  //  No Comments

Are we a mouthpiece for God? We try to be, and I know I fall short at times in not Telling the story about Jesus, Writing it on my Heart everyday as says a favorite hymn. And at times, it is hard for me to tell God just what I am thinking. We need fire in our bones to be able to live the life God has called  us as Christians. Because, there are people watching us everyday to see if we fall flat on our faces. Peggy

Solo Day 141

You know, this is what sets us apart. We are not better than anyone else, not by a long shot, but those who seek the Lord with all their heart and to be obedient to His Word KNOW what lies ahead. We know that Jesus is who He says He is because everything He has ever said or done has come true with no variation, ( anything or anyone to compare that with?), NO! Newsflash, there never will be. Here is the awesome privilege. So many people have heard about “The Good News” and didn’t listen. God has allowed US to listen and now He has given us the charge to go and share this “Good News” AND He has given us the ability to do it. He also has given us the authority, ( His not ours), to cast off anyone or anything that tries to stop us. Problem is, we get confident and try to do it on our own. Let’s set a priority to seek God in all our daily activities and He promises to set our paths straight. Not that it won’t be bumpy and hard, but His promise of hope, joy and peace will see us through. The world, including Christians, do so much that grieves the Holy Spirit. Let’s use what He has given us to give Him cause to smile !       -Mike

Solo Day 134

Never is a long time. Have you ever been forgotten… left somewhere? For me , it was at a movie theater back when I was 12 or 13. Of course, nobody ever thought of child molestation back then , so, I walked home. ( I was mad not afraid… it was only 3 miles). The Bible  tells us that God will never forget us- never! Wow, if we will but turn to Him and seek to be obedient to His word, then He will supply all our needs… forever! Sounds like a no-brainer to me !       Mike

You’re Mine. As children we often played the game with rose petals, he loves me, he loves me not, hoping always to wind up with he loves me. We don’t have to play games with God. We are His and when we are over our heads, he is there to lead us. A poster we once had says it all. When we look up, God never lets us down. We just keep forgetting to look up. Peggy

Solo Day 127

Do we remember our days with Dad? I can remember clinging tightly to his leg and sticking out my tongue as he was “slaying the dragon”. One time the “dragon” was a dog that I was teasing and found out the hard way that his chain was longer than I thought!  (Later though, I also found out that my dad’s scolding was worse than the dog’s bark… don’t tease animals). Our earthly fathers love and protect us the best they know how but our Eternal Father KNOWS what is best for us and loves us forever. In this passage, we know that Satan is the Dragon so let’s put ourselves in the place of the vine. If we cling to God and respond to His care taking, then He will grow us to thrive and produce fruit that will glorify Him. Warning! He will remove all thistles and thornbushes, so be true to your species,(Christians) !    Mike

Solo Day 124

In Isaiah 6:8,in  this morning’s  passage it says, I’ll go. Send me. Before we can go and witness to our unsaved neighbors and friends, we must be willing to confess out own sins and shortcomings and submit unto Him.There is a hymn Here Am I, Send Me in our hymnal and some words from the second verse says send me strength, grant that I may be a mirror of Your never ending love. I wonder how our friends and family would describe our mirror. Blurry but continually wiping it off to get a clean sheen. How deep is our committment to say, Here Am I.   Peggy

Ecclesiastes has a way of making you think, but not always the way you want to think. God’s thinking is not our thinking and He wants us to seek and ask Him what He is thinking and how we can be obedient to what He reveals to us through the Bible and in prayer… pretty simple, huh? Thank you Holy Spirit! We are to use everything available to us, all resources, while we still have them, to carry out His Great Commission. How? Let’s review. This is not our Home, these are not our bodies. We were created in His image for His purposes and we are to carry out His purposes through the fulfillment of His Word, in unity with the Holy Spirit, as one body… any questions?     Mike
